靠背輪聯軸器用(yong)來將(jiang)不同機構中的(de)(de)主動軸和從(cong)動軸牢固地聯接起來一同旋轉，并傳遞(di)運(yun)動和扭矩的(de)(de)機械部件(jian)。有時也用(yong)以(yi)聯接軸與其他零(ling)件(jian)（如齒輪(lun)、帶輪(lun)等）。

靠背(bei)輪常由兩半合(he)(he)成(cheng)，分別用鍵或緊(jin)配合(he)(he)等聯接，緊(jin)固(gu)在兩軸端(duan)，再(zai)通過某種方式將兩半聯接起來(lai)。

靠(kao)背輪聯(lian)軸(zhou)器可兼有補償兩(liang)軸(zhou)之(zhi)間由(you)于制造(zao)安裝不精確、工作(zuo)時(shi)的變(bian)形或熱膨脹等原因所發生(sheng)的偏(pian)移（包括軸(zhou)向偏(pian)移、徑向偏(pian)移、角偏(pian)移或綜合偏(pian)移）；以及緩(huan)和沖擊、吸振。
