靠背輪聯軸器用來將不同機(ji)構(gou)中(zhong)的(de)主動(dong)(dong)(dong)軸(zhou)和從(cong)動(dong)(dong)(dong)軸(zhou)牢固地聯接(jie)起來一同旋轉，并傳遞運動(dong)(dong)(dong)和扭矩(ju)的(de)機(ji)械(xie)部件(jian)。有時也用以聯接(jie)軸(zhou)與其他零件(jian)（如(ru)齒(chi)輪(lun)、帶輪(lun)等(deng)）。

靠背輪常由兩半(ban)合(he)成，分別(bie)用(yong)鍵或緊配(pei)合(he)等聯接(jie)，緊固(gu)在兩軸端，再(zai)通過某種(zhong)方(fang)式將兩半(ban)聯接(jie)起來。

靠背輪聯(lian)軸器可兼有(you)補(bu)償兩軸之間由于制造安裝不精確、工作(zuo)時的(de)變形或熱膨(peng)脹等原因所發生的(de)偏(pian)移(yi)(yi)（包括(kuo)軸向(xiang)偏(pian)移(yi)(yi)、徑向(xiang)偏(pian)移(yi)(yi)、角偏(pian)移(yi)(yi)或綜(zong)合(he)偏(pian)移(yi)(yi)）；以及緩和沖擊、吸振。

靠背輪(lun)為俗稱，專(zhuan)業叫法為聯軸器(qi)以及法蘭，用于(yu)機(ji)械(xie)設備的連接。
