萬向節聯軸器的不同軸可能是徑向位移，傾斜或兩者兼而有之。測量同軸度應在十字軸萬向聯軸器端面和圓周上均勻分布的四個位置進行。十字軸式萬向聯軸器聯接的機泵(beng)在安裝過程(cheng)中(zhong)都不可避(bi)免地(di)要進行同軸度的調整，使對輪既同心又平行，否則將影響機泵(beng)使用效率(lv)或造成(cheng)設(she)備運行事故(gu)。

靠背輪聯軸器用來將不同機構(gou)中的主動(dong)軸(zhou)和從動(dong)軸(zhou)牢固地聯(lian)接(jie)起來一同旋轉，并傳遞運動(dong)和扭矩(ju)的機械部件(jian)。有時也用以聯(lian)接(jie)軸(zhou)與(yu)其他零(ling)件(jian)（如齒輪、帶輪等(deng)）。

靠(kao)背輪常由兩(liang)半合成(cheng)，分別用鍵或緊(jin)配合等聯接(jie)(jie)，緊(jin)固(gu)在兩(liang)軸端(duan)，再通(tong)過某種方(fang)式將兩(liang)半聯接(jie)(jie)起(qi)來(lai)。
