靠背輪聯軸器用(yong)來(lai)將(jiang)不同(tong)機構中的主動軸(zhou)和從動軸(zhou)牢固地(di)聯接起來(lai)一同(tong)旋轉，并傳(chuan)遞運動和扭矩(ju)的機械部件。有時也用(yong)以聯接軸(zhou)與其他零件（如齒(chi)輪、帶輪等）。

靠(kao)背輪(lun)常由(you)兩半合(he)成，分(fen)別用鍵或緊配合(he)等聯接，緊固在兩軸端，再通過(guo)某種方式將兩半聯接起(qi)來。

靠(kao)背輪聯軸(zhou)器可兼(jian)有(you)補償(chang)兩軸(zhou)之間(jian)由于制(zhi)造(zao)安裝(zhuang)不精確(que)、工作時的(de)變形或熱膨(peng)脹等原因所發生的(de)偏(pian)(pian)移(yi)(yi)(yi)（包括(kuo)軸(zhou)向偏(pian)(pian)移(yi)(yi)(yi)、徑向偏(pian)(pian)移(yi)(yi)(yi)、角偏(pian)(pian)移(yi)(yi)(yi)或綜(zong)合偏(pian)(pian)移(yi)(yi)(yi)）；以及緩和(he)沖擊、吸振(zhen)。
