靠背輪聯軸器用(yong)來將不(bu)同機(ji)構中的(de)主動軸和(he)從動軸牢(lao)固地(di)聯接起(qi)來一同旋轉，并(bing)傳(chuan)遞運動和(he)扭(niu)矩的(de)機(ji)械部件。有時也(ye)用(yong)以聯接軸與其他(ta)零件（如齒輪(lun)、帶輪(lun)等）。

靠背輪常由兩(liang)(liang)半(ban)合(he)成(cheng)，分別(bie)用鍵或緊(jin)配(pei)合(he)等(deng)聯接(jie)，緊(jin)固在兩(liang)(liang)軸端，再(zai)通過某種方式將兩(liang)(liang)半(ban)聯接(jie)起(qi)來。

靠背(bei)輪聯(lian)軸(zhou)器可兼有補(bu)償兩軸(zhou)之間由于制造安裝(zhuang)不精確(que)、工作時(shi)的(de)變形或(huo)(huo)熱膨脹等原因所發生的(de)偏移（包括軸(zhou)向偏移、徑(jing)向偏移、角偏移或(huo)(huo)綜(zong)合偏移）；以及(ji)緩和(he)沖擊、吸振。

靠(kao)背輪為(wei)俗稱，專業叫(jiao)法為(wei)聯(lian)軸器以及法蘭(lan)，用于機械設備的(de)連接(jie)。
