彈性膜片聯軸器在傳遞扭矩的同時通過彈性膜片的的變形來補償軸向和角向的位移，是一種高性能的金屬彈性撓性聯軸器。彈性聯軸器結(jie)構緊湊，傳(chuan)遞(di)扭(niu)矩(ju)大，使用壽命長，免維護，耐高(gao)溫，耐酸堿防腐(fu)蝕，適用于高(gao)溫高(gao)速及有腐(fu)蝕工(gong)況環境(jing)的軸系傳(chuan)動(dong)。

靠背輪聯軸器用(yong)來將不同(tong)機(ji)構中的(de)主動(dong)軸和(he)從(cong)動(dong)軸牢固地聯接(jie)起(qi)來一同(tong)旋轉，并傳遞運動(dong)和(he)扭(niu)矩的(de)機(ji)械(xie)部件。有時也用(yong)以(yi)聯接(jie)軸與(yu)其他零件（如(ru)齒輪、帶輪等(deng)）。

靠背(bei)輪常由(you)兩半合成，分別用鍵或緊配合等聯接，緊固(gu)在兩軸(zhou)端(duan)，再(zai)通(tong)過(guo)某種方式將兩半聯接起來。

靠背輪(lun)聯軸(zhou)器可兼有補(bu)償兩軸(zhou)之間由于制造(zao)安裝不精確、工作時的變形或熱膨脹等原因(yin)所發生的偏(pian)移(yi)（包括軸(zhou)向偏(pian)移(yi)、徑向偏(pian)移(yi)、角(jiao)偏(pian)移(yi)或綜合偏(pian)移(yi)）；以及緩和(he)沖擊(ji)、吸振。

靠背輪為俗稱，專(zhuan)業叫法(fa)為聯(lian)軸器以及法(fa)蘭，用于機械設(she)備(bei)的(de)連(lian)接(jie)。
