靠背輪聯軸器用來將不同機(ji)構(gou)中的(de)主動(dong)軸和(he)從動(dong)軸牢固(gu)地聯接(jie)(jie)起來一同旋轉，并傳遞(di)運(yun)動(dong)和(he)扭矩的(de)機(ji)械部件。有時也用以聯接(jie)(jie)軸與其他零件（如(ru)齒輪、帶輪等）。

靠背(bei)輪(lun)常由兩(liang)半(ban)(ban)合(he)成，分別用鍵或緊配合(he)等(deng)聯接(jie)，緊固在兩(liang)軸端，再通過某(mou)種方式(shi)將(jiang)兩(liang)半(ban)(ban)聯接(jie)起來(lai)。

靠背輪聯軸(zhou)器(qi)可兼有補償兩軸(zhou)之間由于(yu)制造安裝不精確、工作時的變(bian)形或熱膨脹等原因所發生的偏(pian)(pian)移（包(bao)括軸(zhou)向(xiang)偏(pian)(pian)移、徑向(xiang)偏(pian)(pian)移、角偏(pian)(pian)移或綜合偏(pian)(pian)移）；以(yi)及緩(huan)和沖擊、吸振。

靠背輪為俗稱(cheng)，專業叫法為聯軸器(qi)以及法蘭(lan)，用于機械設備的連(lian)接。
