彈性膜片聯軸器在傳遞扭矩的同時通過彈性膜片的的變形來補償軸向和角向的位移，是一種高性能的金屬彈性撓性聯軸器。彈性聯軸器結構緊湊，傳遞扭矩大，使(shi)用壽命(ming)長(chang)，免維護，耐高(gao)溫(wen)(wen)，耐酸堿(jian)防腐(fu)蝕，適(shi)用于(yu)高(gao)溫(wen)(wen)高(gao)速及(ji)有(you)腐(fu)蝕工況環(huan)境的軸系(xi)傳動(dong)。

靠背輪聯軸器用(yong)來(lai)(lai)將不同機構(gou)中的主動(dong)軸(zhou)和從動(dong)軸(zhou)牢固地聯(lian)接(jie)(jie)起來(lai)(lai)一同旋轉，并(bing)傳(chuan)遞運動(dong)和扭(niu)矩的機械部件(jian)。有時(shi)也用(yong)以聯(lian)接(jie)(jie)軸(zhou)與其他零件(jian)（如齒輪(lun)、帶(dai)輪(lun)等）。

靠背輪(lun)常由兩(liang)半合成，分(fen)別用鍵或緊配(pei)合等聯接，緊固在(zai)兩(liang)軸端，再通過(guo)某(mou)種方式(shi)將兩(liang)半聯接起來(lai)。

靠背(bei)輪聯軸(zhou)器可兼有補償(chang)兩軸(zhou)之間由于制造安裝不精確、工作時的變形或熱膨脹等原(yuan)因所發生的偏移（包括軸(zhou)向偏移、徑向偏移、角(jiao)偏移或綜合(he)偏移）；以及(ji)緩(huan)和(he)沖擊、吸振(zhen)。

靠(kao)背輪為俗稱，專(zhuan)業叫法(fa)為聯軸器以及(ji)法(fa)蘭，用于機(ji)械設備(bei)的連接。
