扭矩聯軸器是聯接主動機與工作機的一種部件，主要功能為過載保護，力矩聯軸器是當超載或機械(xie)故障而導致所需扭矩超過設定值(zhi)時(shi)，它以打滑(hua)形(xing)(xing)式限制(zhi)傳(chuan)動(dong)系統所傳(chuan)動(dong)的(de)扭力(li)，打滑(hua)的(de)同時(shi)也能一個信(xin)號輸出(chu)停掉電機和減速機，當過載情形(xing)(xing)消失后自行恢復聯結(jie)。
