扭矩聯軸器是聯接主動機與工作機的一種部件，主要功能為過載保護，力矩聯軸器是當超載或(huo)機(ji)械(xie)故障(zhang)而導致所(suo)需扭(niu)矩超過設定(ding)值(zhi)時(shi)，它以(yi)打(da)滑形式限制傳動(dong)系統所(suo)傳動(dong)的扭(niu)力，打(da)滑的同時(shi)也能一個信號輸出停掉電機(ji)和減速機(ji)，當過載情形消(xiao)失后(hou)自行恢復聯結。
